The films shown in this blog are original 8mm (and some super 8) that have been digitized. The film is old and there is some deterioration, and certainly times that the camera (or her operator) was not having a good day. They range from 1960 to 1977, and show the “flavour” of the family and the times they lived in. Although these are “silent” movies, I can still hear the echo of my grandparents’ voices and the laughter of children.
This is a transcription of the note found in the first film canister.
Reel #1 – 1960/61
Taken when I first have movie camera at the previous house. Rosemary & children visit us for a week. Then to Rosemarys’ home at Nelson. Allso showing Pauline, her husband & children who where up there. Rosemarys husband Jerry can be seen bringing in the cow (the only one I have of him)
A little taken on the way to Aunt Tenas. Camera went wrong and could not get any while there except one small shot indoors that not much good.
Followed by a few spots around Vancouver. The Bridge conects the North Shore to Vancouver. I zoom in on near enough where we live under the mountains.
You will see Pauline & her new baby (1962)
Then back to 1960 when Pauline & family came back from Winipeg and with us for Xmas 1960.. the other people are friends. Climax – A Dam good New Years Party.
